‘John Paul II, who underwent a tracheotomy to ease breathing problems in late February, may leave the Gemelli hospital in Rome early next week.

“The pope may be discharged Monday or Tuesday,” the Rev.Richard Nitschke told reporters after speaking to the pope’s personal secretary.’
