For a retailer, just the packaging is enough to get a customer’s attention. Unpacked, the unit is very attractive with stickers on it that highlight it’s specifications. If one’s desktop space was at a premium, this unit holds a copier, fax machine, scanner and laser printer. The suggested price is only $20 more then Brother’s FAX-2820. And consumable costs are quite affordable. The features include everything a home owner or small business should need. If they were to choose a different model, the only reason might be if they absolutely had to print in color. Personally, I send my digital pictures to the local photo shop for processing. I would rather have the reliability, lower consumption cost, and crisp printing of a laser unit. The unit was easy to figure out for most of the basic functions. But if you need to look something up, the documentation is the best I’ve seen in a long time. And if someone happens to loose the documentation, it is all available for download. The company’s website is easy to navigate. The software the comes with the unit will load automaticly on startup which can be disabled. The convenience, performance, affordability and compact design make the Brother MFC-7220 a winner.’
