HP Photosmart 8750 Printer
PC magazine reviews the HP Photosmart 8750 Professional Photo Printer and writes - ‘At 10 by 25.3 by 24.1 inches (HWD), the Photosmart 8750 has a large footprint, but still manages a sleek look, with a gray finish punctuated by a flip-up LCD panel, memory card slots, and a PictBridge connector for cameras. Inside, the printer takes three cartridges with six to nine ink colors, depending on which ones you use. It ships with a tricolor cartridge with cyan, yellow, and magenta; a photo gray cartridge with three shades of gray; and what HP calls a blue photo cartridge, with light cyan, light magenta, and blue, for a total of nine colors and a wider gamut than most photo printers.’

Steve’s Digicams reviews the HP Photosmart 8750 Photo Printer and writes - ‘The Photosmart 8750 is the wide carriage “big brother” of the Photosmart 8450 printer that we reviewed last year. Its photo print quality is excellent and equals the output of the best photo inkjet printers that I’ve used to date. And thanks to its Vivera inks your prints will resist fading for up to 73 years on HP Premium Plus Photo paper (according to tests by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc.)
For large format printing the HP8750 isn’t what I would call “fast,” taking 13 minutes to make a borderless 13×19″ print that the Canon i9900 cranks out in two minutes and forty seconds. Not sure how HP came up with the 3.5 minute figure in their specs as no one is going to print a 13×19″ photo using less than “Best” quality. The HP 8750 does produce superior black and white prints over any of the Canon printers due to its photo gray inks. The only other wide carriage printer that does B&W this well is the Epson 2200, which also has a dedicated photo grey (light black) ink cartridge.’
PhotographyBLOG reviews the HP Photosmart 8750 and writes - ‘The HP Photosmart 8750 is an easy to use and very well-built 9-colour inkjet printer that delivers great image quality, producing fantastic colour and black and white prints straight out of the box on matt, satin and glossy papers. HP’s ICC profiles seem to be extremely accurate - there is no need to spend endless amounts of time or money on profiling to obtain accurate prints with the HP Photosmart 8750 (at least on HP’s own range of papers). The new 9th colour, blue, does make a noticeable difference when you compare prints made on the Photosmart 8750 and the 8-colour Photosmart 8450 side-by-side. Blues are more vibrant and other colours appear more accurate. If you have always struggled with black and white printing in particular, then the HP Photosmart 8750 will be a breath of fresh air. This is the one of the first inkjet printers to produce truly neutral black and white prints using the supplied inkset - most other inkjets introduce some kind of unwanted colour cast, or require you to make further investment in a RIP or dedicated 3rd-party inkset. With the HP Photosmart 8750 you can get truly neutral black and white prints straight out of the box, although the printer driver software won’t allow them to be bordlerless or colour managed from Photoshop.’
Trusted Reviews reviews the HP Photosmart 8750 and writes, “It’s not easy to work out the colour running costs of this machine. Black text is fairly straightforward, as you can plug-in a single black cartridge in place of the triple grey one, especially for printing text pages. The cost then comes out at just over 2.02p per five per cent A4 page, which is very reasonable. … The Photosmart 8750 Professional is a very versatile printer, which can handle a wide variety of sizes and types of media. It produces very good print at reasonable costs and, unlike most of its main competitors, provides useful facilities for quick photo prints from cards and cameras. At the price, it has a lot going for it.”
IT Reviews reviews the HP Photosmart 8750 Pro and writes, “For anybody needing to print larger than A4 images on a reasonably regular basis, the Photosmart 8750 Pro represents very good value and offers excellent print quality. The ability to print from memory cards or directly from a digital camera is a useful extra on a medium-format printer like this.”
