‘Robots are invading! Don’t worry though. They’re on our side.
A rolling unit named the ANDROS F6A has made a few star appearances here in Polk County recently.
The robot, which belongs to the State Fire Marshal’s Office in Tampa, is equipped with a video camera and is used to snoop out situations too dangerous for humans.
“We use it to go into a home to show us what’s going on inside,” said Maj. Francis Hart of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. ” . . . We sacrifice the robot before we sacrifice our people.”‘
