Robot Snails Trail Across Ceilings
‘How does an animal with one foot walk on glue? This is the question researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are trying to answer with a pair of robotic snails.
RoboSnails I and II, being developed by assistant professor Anette Hosoi and her team, were designed to test fluid dynamic models used to recreate the unusual method of a snail’s slimy propulsion, called adhesive locomotion.’
