Robotics company awarded $63.9M for Navy projects
‘Foster-Miller Inc., a Waltham, Mass., company with offices in Albany, N.Y., has been awarded a $63.9 million contract for its TALON robots and operator and technician training and spare parts from the Navy.
TALON robots are used by soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to disarm explosive devices. The latest contract is with the Robot Systems Joint Project Office of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Fla. The money will be used to repair robots deployed in the field.’
