Delphi iPod-Like Radio Is Hedge Against Auto Parts
Delphi Corp. makes mostly batteries, fuel pumps and other auto parts, a tough business that partly explains the company’s preliminary fourth-quarter net loss of $102 million.
Delphi last year began selling a $300 hand-held satellite radio for consumers called MyFi, a variant of its car-based satellite radio that doesn’t depend on the auto market. MyFi could one day help Delphi improve its profitability.
