Comments on Tom and War of the Worlds
The Wisconsin State Journal has an interesting article up which summarises the recent events surrounding Tom, Katie and their movies Batman Begins and War of the Worlds. It’s been a full-on two weeks as Tom Cruise toured the globe promoting the movie, proposing to his new girlfriend Katie Holmes in Paris at the Eiffel Tower, being squirted with water by a UK TV crew and his claims about Scientology.
Some are even calling the engagement a publicity stunt as Cruise began proclaiming his love for Holmes and asked her to marry him during his publicity tour. She, too, is promoting her new movie, “Batman Begins.”
“I get excited about living,” Cruise says by way of explaining his exuberant and confrontational public outbursts of late, jumping on couches on both the “Oprah” and “Tonight” shows. “And people. And there are things in my life, Scientology and tools that I’ve spoken of before, that I apply to my life and have helped me.”

I WAS a Tom Cruise fan. What the hell is going on with this guy?! I had no idea who Katie Holmes even was, until I saw the embarassing introduction she did for him on the MTV awards. Is he going through a mid-life crisis or what?! He used to be such the gentleman and now he is jumping on couches (Oprah Winfrey’s show), taking negative stabs at someone’s health problems (Brooke Shields. When did Tom get an M.D. put behind his name?), and being an all-around jerk! Up until I saw the MTV awards show I had not missed a Tom Cruise film. Not that I am sure he would mind, but I think he has gone over the edge and I will NEVER pay to see another one of his movies. And enough of the ‘news’ regarding these two people. I am sick to my stomach of them both. And if I hear the word ‘amazing’ (he is an amazing man, she is an amazing woman)one more time…I think I will puke! Pass the Paxil please?
