Tom Cruise and fiancée Katie Holmes’ families have met for the first time to thrash out wedding plans. The couple, Tom’s mother, his sister and spokeswoman Lee Anne DeVette and Katie’s parents enjoyed a lunch date at top New York hotel the Carlyle on Tuesday (21-05-05) to discuss details of the forthcoming nuptials.

“They had a huge suite and his mom and sister are there and her parents are there. It was kind of a ‘get to know you before the kids get married’ session”.

According to reports, the meeting was a huge success and Katie’s parents are thrilled that Cruise has asked their daughter to marry him.
