VisiFone - The first digital home telephone for VoIP
Viseon has recently filed an additional 17 patent applications surrounding features and functionality of its next generation VisiFone.
The recently filed patents surround unique aspects of the VisiFone including installation, consumer use and carrier control of a digital telephone and videophone on a broadband network within a home. These patents are in addition to Viseon’s 22 issued patents and 31 previously announced pending patents.
“The unique features of the VisiFone are worthy of patent protection just as our original audio/video features were when we first filed our patents in 1994,” commented John Harris, Viseon’s president and CEO. “Similar to the introduction of digital cell phones, the introduction of digital home phones and the possible replacement of analog phones could lead to a profound change in the way consumers communicate from home. There are over 300 million installed analog home phones in North America.”
