Voice PEP
Voice Performance Enhancement Protocol - vPEP is designed to provide the most efficient use of satellite bandwidth in terms of minimal overhead, flexible packet size, and variable time slot optimization.
vPEP reduces the bandwidth utilization and provides optimal packet sizing for various satellite modems to most efficiently provide voice delivery over a satellite network. Use of this technology reduces the data rate requirement for VoIP as much as 37.5% requiring less bandwidth.
vPEP is an added enhancement to EdgeAccess’ VoiceWise, BlueBox, and its newest Rural Telephony Series VoIP devices. A vPEP Sever is required at the hub to ensure compliance with terrestrial VoIP service providers networks.
